Getting Whisked Away in Cork

A SNEAK PEAK

In July EI organised a special event for Royal Caribbean. The creation of this event was a combined effort between Niamh, Caoimhe & Kerrie &was managed on the day by Lisa, Kerrie & Julie. The Serenade of the Seas called to Cobh on July 21st as part of their Ultimate World Cruise, with Cork chosen to host one of their 4 World Cruise Events.

These events are exclusively offered to guests who have sailed the entire world cruise which lasts 274 nights & includes 8 World Wonders & visits 7 continents & 60+ countries. The other locations for their events were, A Vineyard in Montevideo, Uruguay, The 89th floor observation deck of Taipei 101, Tai- wan and A Musical Experience at the Ephesus Theatre (250B.C.), Turkey.

The Cork event took place at the Midleton Distillery Experience & was a huge success. It was an honour that Excursions Ireland & Cork were chosen to host the 4th & final event of their world cruise. Despite the weather (poor Lisa got saturated on the pier but powered true with glamour & glee!) spirits were high among the guests as they enjoyed an evening of Irish Whiskey, Music, Dancing & delicious food.

The drinks flowed, the guests mingled & the extraordinary venue created an atmosphere that will be hard for these special guests to ever forget.

Many visitors made a point of telling the staff that this was the best of the 4 events. And standards of a world cruiser are high! The EI team flitted around the Distillery bar sneaking extra drinks vouchers into the hands of appreciative guests like party enhancing sprites. In fact on 2 separate occasions Julie was described as an angel appearing from the darkness as she dished out drink vouchers liberally. The evening was such a hit that many guests were reluctant to leave the Distillery however a combined effort eventually saw all on to the coaches & the shorex & EI teams made it back to the pier with 10 mins to spare!

Kerrie, Lisa & Julie struck a poignant picture in the rain, waving goodbye as the ship sailed away from Cobh. They quickly moved on however & found the nearest old man’s pub for a pint, a natter & then the worst chipper they could possibly imagine!

Well done to all involved!
